They also let you <a href=\"https:\/\/help.solidworks.com\/2021\/english\/SolidWorks\/sldworks\/c_cosmetic_threads.htm\">easily annotate threads on a drawing<\/a>. There are several ways to show them in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cati.com\/software\/solidworks-3d-cad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SOLIDWORKS<\/a>. Figure 2 shows, by definition, a Cosmetic Thread. Basically, it is an annotation that represents the minor diameter of a thread on a boss feature or the major diameter of a thread on a hole.<\/p>\n<p>Showing the minor or major diameter of the thread is useful when annotating threads using a hole callout on a 2D drawing.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_189616\" style=\"width: 791px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-189616\" class=\"wp-image-189616\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cati.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/shape-circle-description-automatically-generated.png\" alt=\"Shape, circle Description automatically generated\" width=\"781\" height=\"373\" srcset=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/shape-circle-description-automatically-generated.png 781w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/shape-circle-description-automatically-generated-300x143.png 300w, \/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/shape-circle-description-automatically-generated-768x367.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 781px) 100vw, 781px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-189616\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Figure 4<\/p><\/div>\n<p>So what\u2019s the secret to displaying the major and minor diameters of the threads or a graphical representation of the threads in the model? All you need to do is change their visibility.
